One of the coolest things about the internet is how it has allowed people to mobilize to do good deeds. In 2007 Ode Magazine wrote an article about the growing trend of microloans. Many people have heard of Kiva (they give loans to people in developing nations. There are similar organizations at work domestically such as Prosper.

Then there is Qoin, a Dutch network that sets up people to barter goods and services for things they need.

Here in America you can swap clothing, electronics and toys (and everything else you might find on Craigslist) you've outgrown or no longer need on Zwaggle. You get points on the site which you can use to get other things you need/want or you can donate those items to charitable organizations.

We should all participate!
